Looking For a New Gig? A New Town?
We Are Hiring!
ChartIQ is a profitable, rapidly growing fintech company based in Charlottesville, VA. In addition to our headquarters in Cville, we have offices in Manhattan, London, and a small contingent of international and remote employees here there and everywhere.
We are not a scrappy startup wondering whether or not the lights are going to be on when we go into work every morning. We are profitable. And unlike most startups, we have been profitable prior to every round we’ve raised – our investments have been used to expand our company’s mission and purpose. We’ve tripled our growth in the last couple of years and we’re kicking off 2019 with more open jobs than ever before. Join us at this very exciting time in our company’s expansion!
Haven’t heard about Charlottesville? You’ll be surprised at what you learn about this big small town. The tech scene is exploding (remember Boulder?) and there are tons of great benefits to working and living in this affordable, happy mountain town.
ChartIQ has humble beginnings. Much like Silicon Valley’s “two guys in a garage,” ChartIQ brought a Virginia twist to this company and started their operations in a barn in Albemarle County. Now located in a modern open-air office in downtown Charlottesville, the barn ethos still drives the culture at ChartIQ: stay grounded, work hard.
ChartIQ is redefining the financial technology space with modern, flexible software. Our culture reflects a fast moving, problem-solving environment. We invest authority in our people, letting them take risks and explore new ideas. Our pace is fast and our culture is honest and direct. We wear t-shirts, but we are professionals. We’ve grown fast, but we’re still a connected team. We take our work seriously, but we don’t take it home with us. We work as a team, but we retain our individuality. Plus, every day we buy you lunch (if you want it)!
What’s It Really Like to Work Here?
We offer great perks that include flexible hours, a relaxed office environment, generous vacation time, and a great benefits package. Our main office is in downtown Charlottesville, just one block off of the pedestrian mall. Lunch is provided daily to the entire company, but if you feel like getting out of the office, the downtown mall is the perfect location to grab a bite and soak up some fresh air.
Code and product development are at the core of everything we do, but we appreciate interests and hobbies that can be shared with the rest of the team. We’ve had whiskey and green tea tastings, board game nights, and company-sponsored pinball outings. We’re not a company that demands additional time outside of work hours, but we like to offer opportunities to socialize and focus on fun things that are outside of the office walls. And if we ever have enough time or are put on the spot, our company could very well form its own band.
Although not required, music is a common passion—we have a dedicated Slack channel to share, comment, and love (well, sometimes) musical offerings.
Last but not least, we are a dog-friendly office.
As a college town (Go Hoos!), Charlottesville is loved by many for its progressive city feel paired with a small town vibe. We’ve been voted many times as one of the happiest places to live in the US. A great place for young professionals, new and established families, and retirees, Charlotteville has something for everyone.
Charlottesville is passionate about a lot of things, but namely—music, food, wine, craft beer, arts, and entrepreneurs. Pair this with a dedication to building an inclusive, diverse community and affordable living, and you’ll see why Charlottesville is hard for many to turn down. For out-of-towners, Charlottesville is a growing city with a rapidly-expanding tech industry complimented with the natural beauty, gentility, and charm of a small town. There is no better place to live. You can confirm this simply by asking anyone who lives here.
For many, Charlottesville has become an oasis for urban dwellers tired of the big city. This urban migration helps keeps the city progressive and sophisticated, but we retain a small town feel, often seeing people we know when walking the mall. Our downtown pedestrian mall is lined with mom and pop boutiques, al fresco dining options, the Paramount theater, and the Sprint Pavilion—which many artists claim as one of their favorite venues to play.
